Peyton Place

We are exploring the last half of the 20th century through literature with the Friends bi-monthly Tea and Book Club. The first meeting is January 26 from 1-3 pm in the Community Room.

We are starting with the 1950’s with Peyton Place written by New Hampshire author Grace Metalious

Welcome to small town New Hampshire in the years following World War II. Peyton Place was on the bestseller list of The New York Times for 59 weeks and has entered the American Lexicon describing any small town or group with secrets. Peyton Place explores class differences, social inequities and human interactions all within the small town of Peyton Place.

Books have been provided to borrow from Book Bag, a service of New Hampshire Humanities and are available now.

To get a copy of the book send an email to Rollinsfordlibraryfriends@gmail.com.

All FRPL Events are open to the public and free of charge
